This precious little angle has had quite the life already. At a mere 7 weeks old when these photos were taken, she had already been through a lot! Her mama was induced early and was told her baby girl would have to undergo surgery as soon as possible on her bowels. She lived at the hospital for the first 5 weeks of life. In that time, she was also diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. That’s a lot to take in as new parents! Mom and I had planned this session long before baby was set to arrive, so when mom emailed me in early December saying she would have to post-pone photos until the new year, my heart was sad for her. Being pregnant with a little one myself, I couldn’t imagine in the stress of having your baby go through surgery and having to care for your child at the hospital during their first weeks of life. All the while, having a sweet toddler at home! I’m pretty sure just the thought of that stresses me out! Mom is one strong woman and did everything she had to do and baby is doing amazing now…she’s growing lots (on her growth chart…she’s still petite compared to other babies her age). We brought her in at 7 weeks of age (which is MUCH older than most newborns who are photographed here) and she goes down in history for the greatest sleeper of all time. This session was record breaking and I think we had to give her a soother and pat her little bum for a total of 10 minutes throughout. She’s a champ and here are only a few of my favourite images from our session together….there were so many I felt bad for mom and dad having to go through them and choose!

Since she slept so well, we had the chance to use a lot of different props! Mom got to go swimming through my vast collection and chose a few of her favourites…I love the green headband on her. It’s so tiny just like baby girl and goes well with her skin tone!
This sweet little red-head is an absolute angel…she did not love these wings but we managed to get one great photo of her all dressed up in them!
This session is a lesson in realizing that every baby is unique and special and that even though a little one may be over the 2-week mark…it’s never impossible to capture their sweetness!
